What is Accountability Coaching?
Let’s define it: Accountability means being held responsible for your actions. Coaching means supporting someone to achieve their goals.
Basically an accountability coach helps clients commit and stick to their short term intentions so that they can reach their long term goals.
If you stop to think about it, we are held accountable throughout our lives.
For example, as children our parents ensure that we do things such as clean our teeth or go to bed at the right time. Our teachers test us to see whether we have learnt what we should have learnt in class and in the workplace our boss will conduct performance reviews to ensure that we are doing our jobs.
These are all actions that result in an achievement of some kind, whether that is small or big. Because you have someone to be accountable to you get it done.
However, in your personal life there is less accountability, as we become adults we are no longer accountable to our parents or our teachers, we become more inclined to give up on our goals and aspirations as there is no one to track our progress.
This is why accountability coaching can be so beneficial to you as we can support you to set your goals, track your progress and follow through on what is important to you by:
- Set specific, measurable, and realistic goals.
- Follow up with you regularly and stay on top of your progress.
- Remind you to celebrate your successes.
- Help you analyse your setbacks.
- Provide support and strategies to improve your performance.
Using mind-set to change the way you see your challenges, psychology to find your motivation, build new habits through daily practice we can build the confidence to reach for your goals using a repeatable process, managing challenges without giving up.
